Not Just Snakes and Deer Antlers

The Chinese symbol for Herbalism

NBC5 in Chicago made a theatrical visit to a medicine shop in Beijing. They filmed dried snake and counters filled with strange powders, some of which they described as deer antler. Yes, in the traditional shops in China and in the US, you can find snake and deer antler (used for sexual potency), but the story focused on the exotic herbal remedies and ignored the more commonplace. It has always been known that herbs have healing properties. Many of the drugs prescribed by physicians are synthetic variations of natural herbs. In my Chicago acupuncture practice, I find herbs very useful for many ailments as well as every day complaints.
