Canada’s Bronze Medal Winner Used Acupuncture To Help Him Win After A Recent Injury

Mark McMorris, a fan favorite, just won the bronze medal in slopestyle at the Sochi games. He was originally one of those favored to win, but two weeks ago he broke a rib in a terrible accident at the X games. The result of the injury was that whenever he flew off a ramp, bump or rail and hit the ground, pain surged through his back.  “A steady regime of acupuncture, pool training, gym work and massages got him to a point where only the hard landings hurt.” In an on camera interview, Mark acknowledged that he was unaware of his pain as he performed his stunts but felt the broken rib at the finish.
