New Research Says Acupuncture Fights Dementia

Two recent studies using acupuncture showed positive results for patients suffering from vascular dementia. The research showed that acupuncture improved their cognitive function and social behavior. In one study, the researchers found that acupuncture helped prevent oxidative damage, which is damage to the blood vessels that feed oxygen and nutrients to the brain. The other study compared two types of acupuncture to see which one was more effective. One group received scalp acupuncture and the other group had acupuncture on the body. Both groups saw benefits, but the  scalp acupuncture group had more significant improvement.
