During one week in October, there was a string of attempted burglaries (one succeeded) of herbal shops in Los Angeles. Two men stole Ginseng and Sea Cucumbers, very expensive herbs used in Chinese Medicine. A pound of dried sea cucumber retails for over $100, and a pound of ginseng can cost upwards of $500 depending on the quality of the root. In Traditional Chinese Medicine Sea Cucumber is used to treat fatigue, impotence, constipation, and joint pain. Ginseng helps the body body adapt to stress, stimulates your immune system and fights fatigue. Man Van Truong, 56, has been arrested and arraigned but I believe his accomplice is still at large.
