With the Chicago marathon coming up this weekend I wanted to highlight two amazing and accomplished women runners who are also acupuncture fans.
English athlete extraordinaire Paula Jane Radcliffe, is the current women’s world record holder in the marathon with her time of 2:15:25 hours. She is a three-time winner of the London Marathon, two-time New York Marathon champion, and won the 2002 Chicago Marathon. She has also used acupuncture regularly to help with recovery from injuries and to keep her in top shape.
Olympic bronze medal winner Dee Dee Trotter is a huge advocate for acupuncture. Her hometown acupuncturist accompanied her to London and she even took time out during the London Olympics to tweet her support, check it out –
“@tcm007 your welcome! Just finished a treatment now and feeling great!”
On answering why she decided to try acupuncture, she wrote “@tcm007 I was dealing with a lot of unanswerable muscular issues and my coach at the time told me he met Bret Moldenhauer a #godsend”
Acupuncture is a great way to treat common running injuries. Instead of taking painkillers, why not follow in the footsteps of these impressive athletes and try acupuncture. It can help with the pain from injuries and speed up recovery.
